Farmers Market Starting May 16
The Thomas County Farmers Market will be meeting in the NW corner of Fike Park every Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. Find all forms of goodies from fresh fruits and veggies, to artisan baked goods, to crafts and artwork presented by local entrepreneurs.
Babysitting Class on Wednesday, May 20
Thomas County Health Department and Thomas County Extension are having a Babysitting Class for kids 6th grade or older from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Training includes diapering, dressing, holding, safety and basic first aid and CPR. $20 per participant, register by May 16th! Monthly Clubs Starting at Prairie Museum
Needles and Hooks club meet on the first Thursday of each month from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Museum Library. Open to all who use needle or hook to create. The Between the Sheets club meet from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month, also in the Museum Library. Open to all who want to learn about family research and genealogy.
Colby Housing Authority hosts a game night on Tuesday's and Thursday's at 7:00 PM, anyone is welcome! For more information, contact (785) 460-6763.
Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Service Officer Chris Deitering will be available to assist local veterans at the Colby Public Library from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the final Thursday of each month. Based in Hays, Deitering serves veterans across 58 counties in Western Kansas, helping them access benefits and services earned through their military service. The outreach aims to improve access for veterans in rural areas, where assistance has historically been limited. DAV, a nonprofit organization, provides support with VA claims, transition assistance and advocacy for injured and disabled veterans.

The Brewster Heritage Center will be having a Celebration of America’s 250th year on Flag Day Weekend, June 13-14, 2026.
Saturday’s events will include music, speakers, kid’s rodeo, BBQ, kid’s events, a parade and more. Sunday, enjoy a 10 a.m. CDST Outdoor Worship Service at Hunter Park followed by a pot-luck dinner. Full schedule of events is in planning.
