Colby Citywide Spring Cleanup
May 6-10
For residential customers, call city hall to schedule your spring clean pickup that week.

Art Walk on Friday, April 26th
This year's Spring Art Walk is hosted by the Colby Community College art department. It will be set up throughout the college campus from 5 to 8 p.m.. The show features original works by professional artists and students from CCC, Colby Public Schools, Golden Plains, Goodland, and Norton high schools. Many pieces are available for purchase. Art and activities will be in Ferguson Hall, the H.F. Davis Library, the Robert Burnett Student Union, the Cultural Arts Center gallery, and the Bedker Memorial Complex. Live music will be in most of the buildings.  Additional highlights include food vendors, caricature drawings, face paintings and balloon animals. A raku firing will be performed outside the ceramics lab, and Fort Hays University professor Toby Flores will do a blacksmith demonstration in the center of the campus. There is no charge to attend. Free Community Shred Day
Saturday, April 27th from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. 240 W. 4th St in Colby. Coffee and Donuts Served! You can shred: Cancelled checks, medical records, credit card information, utility bills, pay stubs, all sensitive paper documents! Limit 5 boxes per vehicle.
Staples or paper clips do not need to be removed. For compliance reasons, only personal and household materials will be accepted at no charge on the day of the event.
In case of unfavorable weather, refreshments will be served in the bank lobby.

Fried Chicken Dinner
The American Legion Post #363 will have a drive-through Chicken Fried Steak Night from 6:00-7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 27th. Use Experiment Station Road and enter the Legion drive from the south. Meals are $12.00.

Walk-A-Thon for Parkinson's
There will be a Walk-A-Thon presented by the Parkinson's Families of Northwest Kansas at the CCC Steve Lampe Athletic Center on Saturday, April 27th. All experience levels, abilities, and speeds are welcome. Walk for as long as you can. $50 registration fee (includes a t-shirt). All proceeds will help continue the weekly classes offering fitness, peer support, art, music, and special presentations FREE OF CHARGE for those affected with Parkinson's and their caregivers in Thomas County. Check-in is from 9:00-10:00 a.m. with the event beginning at 10:00 a.m. Register Here

Helping Paws
needs dry cat, dog food and litter. Helping Paws is accepting donations, supplies can be brought to the Colby United Methodist Church during office hours or picked up by volunteers. The pet-food bank is open on Wednesdays from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. and 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. for those who need food and litter. For questions, call 785-460-2761 or email: office@colbyumc.org.
