The Rawlins County Shuttle service will be closed on Thursday, March 13 for maintenance.

Ivory Keys to Present Recital 
Students of Virginia Heble will present their first annual Ivory Keys piano recital at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 16 at the Rawlins County Elementary School cafeteria. The public is welcome to attend.

Food Bank Hours
The Rawlins County Food Pantry is open Thursdays from 4 to 6 p.m. Located at the back of 5ten Main.

Criminal Justice Expo on Wednesday, March 26th
Colby Community College will host a Criminal Justice Expo from 10 AM to 2 PM. in the Bedker Memorial Complex.
The come-and-go event allows students and community members to meet with industry professionals and explore careers in the criminal justice field. More than a dozen employers will be on-site to discuss job openings, internships, and career paths with attendees.

Innovation Center Efforts to Recruit Substitute Childcare Providers

Norton, Kan., Feb. 13, 2025 – The Innovation Center is actively seeking individuals interested in becoming qualified childcare substitutes to support local childcare providers and centers. This initiative aims to address a critical challenge in the childcare industry: the lack of available and trusted substitute providers. ​

Childcare providers face long hours, typically from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., leaving little flexibility for personal appointments or family events. For home-based providers, even a brief absence can mean lost income and disrupt the families they serve. Childcare centers risk classroom closures when staff members are absent. Like public schools, childcare providers can utilize substitutes, but the process to become a childcare substitute is often lengthy and costly. ​

Through the Innovation Center’s Childcare Shared Services Hub, these barriers are being removed. The Innovation Center will cover the expenses associated with becoming a childcare substitute, including: ​
