WALKING SAFETY TIPS

Spring is here, schools are closed and more people are at home due to the CVOID-19 response. Getting outside to get exercise is perfect but be safe doing it.
· Walk on sidewalks whenever possible
· If you are walking on the road, walk facing traffic as far from the traffic as you can get.
· Cross streets at crosswalks of intersections.
· Assume drivers cannot see you
· Wear bright reflective clothing

Closings and Cancellations


-Schools are closed for the remainder of the year: Please visit your school's website for more information 

-KSHSAA is cancelling all spring championships, competitions, and festivals for the remainder of this school year. Read more Here

-Rawlins County Health Center is restricting ALL visitors. Patients and staff will be screened before access is allowed into the building. Please call ahead to the hospital clinic if you are experiencing fever, cough, and shortness of breath before coming to the facility.

-AYSO Region 994: At this point AYSO must follow National AYSO rules on delaying games until after Easter (April 12th). At that time, we plan to begin our season. This may be Saturday and another day of the week (2 games a week), extending the season, a mixture of extending the season and offering two games a week or something else. Our goal is to provide a quality soccer environment to our players. We will actively monitor the situation.

-Western Plains Arts Association: All Shows are cancelled for the rest of the season.

-In an effort to slow the rate of COVID-19 transmission, the Rawlins County Shuttle will not run until further notice.
-Effective immediately until further notice: In an effort to slow the rate of COVID-19 transmission, the Rawlins County Courthouse will implement: Closing the Rawlins County Courthouse to the public.

  • Herndon Easter Egg hunt is cancelled
  • The Annual Rotary Auction is postponed
  • All McDonald Senior Citizens meetings are cancelled until further notice
  • 2020 Alumni Banquet and Dance cancelled
  • TLC General Store temporarily closed. Items available in Brown's True Value or special request
  • Curriers closed to foot traffic. Call for curb service
  • Herndon Ox Roast postponed until June 12, 2021
