Decision Weather: October 4th:

Today will be fairly pleasant temperature-wise, but a bit breezy with gusts to 40 mph. Tomorrow we are expected to warm back into the 90s for most of the area with critical fire weather concerns for portions of the area due to low humidity and breezy conditions.

Sunday will bring 70 degree temperatures again. Overnight low's range in the upper 40's/low 50's.

Thomas County History Hunt

The Thomas County Historical Society is celebrating its 65th Anniversary with a Thomas County History Hunt. Pick up your History Hunt booklet at the Prairie Museum of Art & History now through October. Visit the locations across Thomas County, answer the trivia questions, and take a photo at each location. Completed entries will be entered into a drawing for $250 for 1st, $150 for 2nd, and $100 for 3rd place. All entries must be received by October 31st at 5 PM to be eligible for the cash and prize drawing. All participants who complete the booklet will be given a special prize.

Creativity Class

Registration Ends October 4th

Create with Christine, located at 640 N Franklin, recently held free launch classes to introduce their new STEAM-based Creativity Club 4 Kids. The classes were offered to children aged 4-12 years old, and they were full and successful! The kids created age-appropriate arts and crafts, while learning new skills in a fun environment. The Fall session for Creativity Club 4 Kids is now open for Registration! The classes will begin on October 7th and run through November 19th, and if your child has to miss a class, don’t worry! Take-home kits will be offered so they never have to miss out on the chance to broaden their horizons!

Senior Citizens Potluck

Monday, Oct. 7- McDonald Senior Citizen monthly potluck to start at noon followed by Bingo. Mark your calendars and plan to attend!

In Atwood:

Rummage Sale 

The Town & Country Guild fall rummage begins with a preview and purchase event from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17 at the American Legion in Atwood. The sale follows from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, with a $5 sack sale from 1 to 2 p.m. There is a $1 admission/donation to enter. Donations will be accepted from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16 and from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17 at the American Legion building.

RCHS Homecoming 

Rawlins County High School Homecoming football game is 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4 against Stockton. Royalty will be crowned at halftime.

Fall Drag Races 

Atwood Lions Club have set their annual Fall Drag Races! 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Atwood Airport. Registration is open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. $30 per car. Free admission for spectators.
