Documentary Coming February 17th and 24th:
In the early fall of 1877, a group of black settlers departed from central
Kentucky en route to a new promise of freedom in the lands of Western
Kansas. The journey included a trek on the Ellis Trail to their ultimate
destination of Nicodemus, Kansas. You are invited to share in a reenactment of
this historical time and join us for the premier of the documentary that features
the actual descendants of the original settlers portraying their ancestors and telling the story of this arduous journey of 1877. The Ellis Trail To Nicodemus
documentary will be shown to the public for the first time at the Frontier Stage
theater in Hill City, Kansas at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 17th or The Old
Cowtown Museum in Wichita on February 24th, also viewing at high noon.
Although there is no cover charge, seating IS limited for either of these premiers
