Gem Hog Roast
On Wednesday, August 26th the Gem Lions invite the community to join them for their annual Hog Roast at the Gem Community Building with service from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Free will donations with net proceeds benefiting community betterment projects, sight programs and education. Dine Out for Kids
Tuesday, August 18th - Treat your staff, friends or family to a great meal for a great cause! At participating restaurants in Colby and a percentage of their sales will be donated to the Play 315 Playground Renovation Project at Colby Public Schools. Participating restaurants include Pizza Hut, B-Hive, Jimmy John's and more.

Tennis Car Wash
Saturday, August 22 - Colby High Schools Boys & Girls Tennis will be having their 13th Annual Car Wash from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Kansas Quick Wash for a free will donation.

Ice Cream Social on Sunday, August 23rd
The Colby Rowdy Grannies will be hosting a Back to School Ice Cream Social from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in Fike Park. Free will donation encouraged, all proceeds go to support students. Bring your own chair. In case of rain, it will be held at the American Legion.

Community Forum on Wednesday, August 26th
Child Care Aware of Kansas is having a Community Connection and Feedback Forum for Child Care Stakeholders. 4 to 6 p.m. at City Limited Convention Center. Complimentary supper will be provided, and all participants will receive a gift card for attending. These forums are intended to bring together community members, partners, providers and other stakeholders for meaningful conversation about the strengths, needs and opportunities within the childcare ecosphere in their communities. 

Farmers Market at Fike Park
The Thomas County Farmers Market will be meeting at the NW corner of Fike Park every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to noon until this fall. Find all forms of goodies from fresh fruits and veggies to artisan baked goods, to crafts and artwork presented by local entrepreneurs!

Cooper Barn Jams in Colby!

Options - Safe and Healthy Workplace

Disabled American Veterans   (DAV) Service Officer Chris Deitering will be available to assist local veterans at the Colby Public Library from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the final Thursday of each month. Based in Hays, Deitering serves veterans across 58 counties in Western Kansas, helping them access benefits and services earned through their military service. The outreach aims to improve access for veterans in rural areas, where assistance has historically been limited. DAV, a nonprofit organization, provides support with VA claims, transition assistance and advocacy for injured and disabled veterans.

Fridays at The Senior Progress Center
The center has donuts and fellowship every Friday starting at 8:00 a.m. All are welcome to attend.
