In Rexford:
Donkey Basketball
Golden Plains Activities Department will be hosting Donkey Basketball on April 23rd in Rexford. It's basketball played on real, live donkeys and it will be wilder than a rodeo and funnier than a circus! All local players (GPHS Students vs Elem/MS/HS Staff), so come out and see someone you know try to ride a donkey and play basketball at the same time. It's a thrill a minute, a spill a minute. Sponsored by Golden Plains Athletic Department. All proceeds benefit GP Athletics. Advance tickets $7.00, tickets at the door $10.00, (preschool free with paid adult). For residential customers, call city hall to schedule your spring clean pickup that week.

Free Community Shred Day
Saturday, April 27th from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. 240 W. 4th St in Colby. Coffee and Donuts Served! You can shred: Cancelled checks, medical records, credit card information, utility bills, pay stubs, all sensitive paper documents! Limit 5 boxes per vehicle.
Staples or paper clips do not need to be removed. For compliance reasons, only personal and household materials will be accepted at no charge on the day of the event.
In case of unfavorable weather, refreshments will be served in the bank lobby.

Volunteers Needed for Track Meet

Open House at Heartland
Heartland Christian School (1995 W 4th St) is hosting an open house from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19th. Bring your students for fun, games, prizes, and science demonstrations ages Preschool-12th grade. Meet the teachers, tour the school, and get information. Fried Chicken Dinner
The American Legion Post #363 will have a drive-through Chicken Fried Steak Night from 6:00-7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 27th. Use Experiment Station Road and enter the Legion drive from the south. Meals are $12.00.

Walk-A-Thon for Parkinson's
There will be a Walk-A-Thon presented by the Parkinson's Families of Northwest Kansas at the CCC Steve Lampe Athletic Center. All experience levels, abilities, and speeds are welcome. Walk for as long as you can. $50 registration fee (includes a t-shirt). All proceeds will help continue the weekly classes offering fitness, peer support, art, music, and special presentations FREE OF CHARGE for those affected with Parkinson's and their caregivers in Thomas County. Helping Paws
needs dry cat, dog food and litter. Helping Paws is accepting donations, supplies can be brought to the Colby United Methodist Church during office hours or picked up by volunteers.
